Description: This 1940's vintage Seth Thomas ships clock is being sold as is in nonrunning condition. If you are a collector or repairer of this type of clock, than you might already have a spare platform escapement to repair or replace the faulty unit in this clock. I don't have the tools to replace the broken pivots on the balance wheel. Cosmetically, this clock with bakelite case is in excellent condition with a clean, complete dial. Other than the platform escapement, the movement works freely. NOTE: Since originally listing this clock, in "AS-IS" non-working condition, I have located a replacement platform balance to replace the damaged one. In my spare time, I am working on this clock to return it to operating condition and will re-list it when done. Thanks. 2/29/08. |
